The Stelter Company and Giving Docs Announce Strategic Partnership

Industry-Leading Planned Giving Marketing Leadership and Innovative Online Estate Planning Tools Come Together

DES MOINES, Iowa (Feb. 3, 2022) –  The Stelter Company, an integrated marketing agency providing nonprofits with strategies to optimize revenue across their development portfolios, and Giving Docs, provider of a full suite of online estate planning tools, announced today a strategic partnership aimed at providing nonprofits a seamless solution to maximize their planned gift ROI.

By aligning Giving Docs’ intuitive estate planning platform with Stelter’s decades of insight into what motivates donors to make legacy gifts, nonprofits will be able to expand their outreach, make deeper connections, reduce costs and remove the barriers donors face when deciding to make a legacy gift.

“One of the biggest challenges planned giving programs face is moving donors from intent to action. Our partnership with Giving Docs gives nonprofits the tools and strategies necessary to make it easy for donors to take the next step in creating an estate plan and supporting a mission they care about,” Nathan Stelter, President of The Stelter Company, says.

According to Caring.com’s 2021 Wills and Estate Planning Study, just 33% of Americans have a will in place, although two-thirds say it is either very or somewhat important to have one. The top reason cited for not having a will was “I haven’t gotten around to it” with 34% of respondents answering this way. The percentage of respondents saying “I don’t know how to get a will or living trust” increased to 7.6% from 6.3% in 2020.

“This partnership brings together deep subject matter experts with new technology, making estate planning and planned giving accessible and easy to accomplish,” Brantley Boyett, President and Co-Founder of Giving Docs, says. “It’s really a win-win situation for everyone. Nonprofits can provide the means for their donors to create an estate plan while gently encouraging legacy gifts, and donors can easily create a plan to support both the people and causes they care about.”

Nathan cites Giving Docs’ long-term approach as well as its focus on why donors make these types of giving decisions as key reasons for the partnership. “Giving Docs’ mission to make it easy for people to build meaningful legacies aligns perfectly with The Stelter Company’s values and approach,” Nathan says.

“We are thrilled to be working with such an inspiring organization. Stelter is home to some of the smartest, most passionate experts in the industry who deeply care about their mission to help nonprofits and donors create a better world,” Brantley says.
