The team at Children International had already been around the block a time or two when they got to Stelter. “We had received nice bequests in the past and knew we had very loyal donors,” says Laura Thornton, Children International vice president, marketing and engagement. “But the question was: How do we actually know who’s out there and how do we talk to them?”

Children International sent out a donor survey several years ago. As feedback came in, however, they simply “didn’t have the strategy and resources for timely follow-up,” Laura says. This time, however, they knew they needed a full-service partner, one that could lead, guide and work with their internal teams to develop a long-term, well-functioning program.
