Web Developer

Our web developers conceptualize and create comprehensive planned giving websites for use by a wide variety of nonprofits. Combining creative ideas with strategy, vision, technical expertise and user experience principals, we build user-friendly websites that effectively communicate a desired message. This position will incorporate front-end, back-end and DevOps skills to support our Digital Solutions team.


Creates planned giving websites for nonprofits 

  • Designs, develops, tests and delivers websites and components using established best practices and design methods
  • Interprets clients’ unique goals and requirements to incorporate concepts and approaches that will meet stated objectives
  • Demonstrates creative, technical and analytical skills

Participates in the design, programming, testing, documentation and implementation of applications and systems

  • Provides concrete input to the design of complete product components and solutions
  • Writes tests as needed for all code that is developed
  • Refactors existing modules or product components to meet modern standards
  • Participates in and conducts code reviews
  • Works in adherence to secure development lifecycle practices and policies
  • Optimizes front-end and back-end integration

Web Department Support 

  • Supports web department in site maintenance as needed, following established guidelines and deadlines
  • Fixes problems encountered in the functioning of websites
  • Completes other jobs as assigned
  • Keeps supervisor apprised of progress, problems, and relevant issues


  • Proficiency in:
    • JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
    • C#, .NET MVC 5
    • REST APIs
    • Multiple operating systems: Windows, Mac, Linux
    • Windows/Mac: Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Practical knowledge of:
    • Git, Githuband version control 
    • Modern CMS platforms
    • Database technologies (structured and non-structured)
    • Cloud-based computing systems (i.e. Azure, AWS, Oracle)
    • Deployment topologies (i.e. ensuring secure, highly available systems)
    • SEO/SEM and its impact on web design
    • Accessibility best practices

    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Must work effectively with all internal staff and outside suppliers, be professional, be a team player, yet be innovative; able to take constructive criticism and direction
    • Must set a good example to all staff members, as a mature professional, willing to help others when needed and show the willingness to do whatever is necessary to get the job done


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, web development or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience
  • 2-yrs of practical experience in web development

    • Consistently contributes to web team meetings
    • Evaluates new processes for improvements in quality, efficiency and cost savings and provides feedback to supervisor
